The Program Manager reports to the COO of the Company and is responsible for coordinating the planning, execution, and commissioning of the different Program components (Projects) under the responsibility of individual Project Managers.

The Program Manager monitors the progress of the Program components and acts to ensure the overall goals, schedules, budget, and benefits of the Program will be met. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, third-party contractors, and consultants as required in order to deliver the Program according to plan.

Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage Program development from beginning to end.
• Document and adopt Program scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals as defined by senior management and stakeholders.
• Define Program success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout Program life cycle.
• Develop full-scale Program plans and associated communications documents.
• Effectively communicate Program expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Liaise with Project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve Program goals.
• Submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and recruit as required during the Program cycle.
• Set and continually manage Program expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts between the Program components.
• Identify and manage Program milestones, critical path, and deliverables.
• Develop and implement proactive cost control system.
• Plan and schedule Program timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the Program team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
• Proactively manage changes in Program scope, identify potential issues, and prepare contingency plans.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise Program team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the Program.

Contract Details:
• 7/3 week rotation to the mine site in Mali, with up to 4 days of travel time on Company time.
• Monthly salary sent to bank of the expat’s choice.
• 3 month probationary period.
• Single status camp housing provided. One trip per year for spouse at Company expense.
• Expat is responsible for taxes in home country. The Company pays all Malian taxes.
• Good medical and insurance package.
• Economy airfare from expat’s home to Mali. Company pays all reasonable expenses.
• Travel from Bamako, Mali to/from site provided by charter and/or buses.

Requirements:
• At least 10 years experience as a Project Manager
• Candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage a $160 million capital budget.
• As Mali is a French speaking country, the candidate should preferably be bilingual English/French. However, English only candidates will be considered.
